Important milestone: Deutsche WindGuard is ISO 45001 certified

Occupational health and safety management system now firmly embedded

Varel, 2021-10-19: With the successful certification according to ISO 45001, Deutsche WindGuard has now firmly embedded its occupational health and safety management system in its corporate philosophy.

“Workplace safety and the health of our employees are top priorities in our organisation. This certification in accordance with the new, internationally recognized standard is therefore an important milestone that we have consistently worked towards over the recent months,“ says Dr. Dennis Kruse, Managing Director of Deutsche WindGuard, “the certificate not only strengthens our attractiveness as an employer. As a service provider in the wind energy industry, we now also meet an important requirement that is increasingly decision-relevant for our customers.”

Deutsche WindGuard successfully had its occupational health and safety management system certified according to ISO 45001. Tobias Künne, Head of Corporate Governance, and Janina Düpont, Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, are delighted to have reached this important milestone.

“The diversity of our service portfolio implies employing a multitude of specialised experts from a wide range of disciplines. This variety of tasks requires profound expertise and detailed knowledge of individual work processes, particularly in terms of occupational safety, accident prevention and health protection,” says Tobias Künne, Head of Corporate Governance at Deutsche WindGuard, “thus we are very pleased that, in preparation for this certification, our long-term colleague Janina Düpont has completed training as an occupational health and safety specialist and as a qualified person on personal protective equipment.”

From extensive updates to the risk assessments for all positions in the company to the optimisation and implementation of processes and safety standard alignment through to the detailed documentation, Janina Düpont accompanied the nearly two-year preparation phase and supported certifier GUTcert GmbH in its extensive audits at the sites in Bremerhaven and Elsfleth as well as at the headquarters in Varel.

“The maintenance of our occupational safety and health management is an ongoing process,” Janina Düpont looks ahead, “for example, as part of our supplier management, it is our responsibility to verify that subcontractors comply with our safety standards and legal requirements applicable in their countries of origin.”

The ISO 45001-certified management system for occupational health and safety is an important addition to Deutsche WindGuard’s quality management system, which comprises numerous accreditations and an ISO 9001 certification.
