Measurements with variable air density
How do anemometers react in different air densities? This question as well as the anemometer’s performance in variable turbulence intensity in conjunction with dynamic response measurements and their an assessment of tilt response behavior are vital parts of anemometer classification. To date, the influence of air density on the sensor relied on numeric models. Our variable density tunnel allows measurements of this influence under realistic conditions in accordance to the methods stated in IEC 61400-12-12 for anemometer classification.
Furthermore, the density tunnel is available for basic research projects. For example to determine if the performance of a sensor meets the expectations even under extreme condition.
