Fault Ride Through
Power generating units such as wind turbines, photovoltaic systems, combustion engines as well as energy storage facilities must prove their grid stabilizing abilities prior to market launch.
WindGuard Certification has its own test laboratory accredited by the German Accreditation Authority (DAkkS) in accordance with the current DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard for all applicable guidelines.
During fault ride-through (FRT) tests for the verification of dynamic grid support, we simulate fault conditions in the public grid, for example undervoltages or overvoltages. Using the recorded measurement data, we check whether the generating unit reacts as required and if it returns to normal operation after fault clearance without disconnect-ing from the grid.
